PASS Community Summit 2008: Pre-Conference Seminar

Securing SQL Server from Predators

Led by Peter DeBetta
Monday November 17, 2008

Seminar Details

Had your identity stolen lately or know someone who has? Worse - do you know someone who is to blame for such theft? I have seen many database implementations that were far from secure and potentially exposed what should have been secure information. This pre-conference seminar is aimed at helping you secure the database and will cover topics such as key management, data encryption (both apparent and transparent), SQL injection (and how to avoid it), coding practices, the benefits and downside of ORMs, physical security, and keeping communications secure. Topics covered will range from high-level introductory to deep dives into code and architecture.
